Ban will eliminate drag racing in Canada
The government in Canada is passing a law that will ban the use of leaded fuel in Canada for competition use. This ban, if passed, will mean the end of drag racing in Canada. The proposed law is slated to go into effect on January 9, 2009.Leaded fuel consumption for motorsports in Canada accounts for only 1.5% of all total consumption, and yet competition use is the only form targeted. That means no more Top Fuel Dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, Pro Stocks, Pro Mods, Motorcycles, or for that matter the majority of all sportsman cars with any kind of performance enhancers. This is unfair and ABSURD!
If you are passionate about our sport, please call or write the local lawmakers and make your displeasure known. The comment period closes February 13th, 2008.
