Gimmee Your Stuff
As a follow up to my Cultural reach-out, I read about the "Gimme Your Stuff" program from a friend's blog (Thanks, Chai!).
Basically, it allows you to be a cultural ambassador and trade packages with cool stuff from an ambassador in another country. Or, to quote their website:
Welcome to Gimme Your Stuff, the cultural exchange blog where you can swap
items of significance to your area with items from others around the world. A
conduit for many an international cuisine to change hands. A place where you can
trade a newspaper from South Africa, or a CD from Finland. A place where we take
no responsibility for anything anyone else does. A place where we are Changing
the world with other people’s stuff
So here is what a marketing consultant by day, professional female drag racer on weekends from Huntsville, AL can offer:
- Sweet Home Alabama -- The Movie
- Auburn Football gear-- War Eagle! (or Alabama-- if you twist my arm enough.)
- Horsepower & Heels decals & T-shirts
- Racing related items
- Clothing/Accessories from US retailors
- Southern Foods
- Any fashion magazine you'd ever want from the US (Elle, Cosmo, Marie Claire, Latina, US Weekly, Glamour, etc.)
- Alabama newspapers
- NASA related stuff... from the Huntsville Space Center
- Photo scrapbook from popular spots in the area
- Mixed CD of great local music
- any type of Alabama trinkets (or even any other states while I'm racing and traveling)
- AND--- I love shopping, so tell me what you're looking for, and I'll go out and try to find it!
What I'd love to get:
- Shot Glasses from international locations (I collect them)
- Clothing/Accessories that are trendy from your area
- Racecars or Automobile related items in your area
- Sweets/Foods
- Local celebrities/history
- Magazines
- A mixed CD of local music
- Any other interesting item... surprise me!
Can't wait to see who out there wants to exchange! Just leave me a comment if you're interested!

oooh!!! how exciting!! :) i can't wait to post mine. i think you have to invite others via email/blog as well. meaning, if you don't get anyone to come to your site, don't fret. just email them!
hmm, can we trade? ;)
and, thank you, ms. erica, for your compliments on my blog.
