Okay, my best holiday car memory huh? My favorite memory is the drive to grandmas house when we were kids.
Parents would get us up early and we'd lay around in the back of the car, but instead of getting something healthy for breakfast, dad would let us have sodas and candy bars. It was very unusual in our family, but it made the drive much more fun.

I don't have a favorite holiday car memory. In fact, I'm a bit of a scrooge, because things seem to go wrong for me around this time of year, and cars have played their part in that.
So I guess I only have one good car memory - the year I got tires as a gift from my stepdad. And he even put them on for me.
And I did one better than posting it on my blog, I posted it to Twitter: http://twitter.com/MzHartz/status/1074261961
You know, winning a Horsepower & Heels gift basket would give me a good holiday car memory...

My favorite car holiday memory? It's really kind of hard to choose, but I'm going to have to go with the drives home after holiday visits. There was a 30 minute distance between my Dad's and Mom's houses. It was always so much fun to load the car up from visits, and just Dad and I, instead of my stepmother, stepsister, and brother, would listen to holiday music on the way home.
Oh....I posted about the giveaway here also!
Happy Holidays to you and your family! I'm glad we got to get out last night!

Mine would have to be a Maine Christmas in the early 70's. In a borrowed car we made the rounds of family. With a return trip ahead of us of over 20 miles and blizzard conditions outside, our car hood flew up against the windshield and we couldn't get it down! 4 of us took turns driving while hanging out the window so we could see! We about all froze but sang all the way! Crazy kids? Yeah, but its a fun memory now! Merry Christmas!
I found my way here from The Devilish Southern Belle!

Great giveaway! My best car memory was from my childhood when my grandfather was driving our 76 Dodge Dart special edition and me and my sister were fighting in the backseat while he was driving us to a Christmas party. My grandfather turned around to yell at us to be quiet when his car skidded on a patch of ice and we ended up doing a few figure 8 s in the road.My grandfather looked terrified and we girls were scared too.He quickly recovered and said to us that if we kept fighting he was going to have to do that again. He swore he did that on purpose and never admitted otherwise. We laughed for years over that!

I'm not sure that I have a holiday car memory. Maybe the time I got in an accident on Black Friday because some crazy woman wanted my parking spot and was a little overzealous! Yeah. Believe me, it was not fun to have to block a section of a parking lot and other parked cars to wait for a cop to come. Not pretty. You didn't say it had to be a good memory, right? :)

My favorite holiday car memory is just getting all bundled up in the car and driving to grandma's and grandpa's and singing Christmas carols. Sometimes we would have snow which would be AWESOME!!! But, most of the time it would just be sort of gray and cold outside. There was always a LOT of anticipation though to get there and all of the FOOD and FUN and PRESENTS!!!

My favorite holiday car memory was when we went to visit my grandparents and we would have the car piled high with presents and we would sing and laugh, so excited to be going to Grandma and Granddaddy's house to share Christmas.

Don't really have a Christmas car memory, never got one at Christmas or gave one. There is the story of our car breaking down on The Indiana Turnpike with 3 small children on our way to Grandma's in Chicago, A trucker stopped for us,put us in his truck and took us to the nearest rest stop and then bought all my kids something out of the vending machine, as he was making his way home for the holday.

Just like most of the other commenters, my favorite car holiday memories are of driving to the grandparents' house, usually on Christmas Eve. The anticipation was always great, and we even started a countdown as we turned the corners when we got close to the farm.

My favorite holiday car memory was one I will never forget. I was a little scared of firecrackers so to remove myself from the danger of popping I got in the back of my PaPas woody station wagon. I had my box of firecrackers and a lit cigarette. That is how they let us light them back then. I was lighting them and throwing them out the window far away from me when uh oh I droppped the cigarette in the box of firecrackers. Panic I jumped over the two back seats into the front seat and bolted out of the car screaming. My grandfather was soooo upset because this car was his pride and joy. He never gave me firecrackers again and his car smelled like smoke for a loooong time. I laugh every time I think about it. He got over it. I wonder why I did not get a spanking.

My favorite holiday car memory is loading all the presents in the car in preparation to go visit my grandparents. It was always a long drive, about 4 1/2 hours, so it was much more fun to go there (the excitement of the holidays) than to go back home afterwards!
